What’s in a Name
Name: Wanda Maximoff
Nickname: Scarlet Witch
Age: 29
Affliction: Acolyte
Face Claim: Kate Beckinsale
It’s Inside what Matters
Personality:
Wanda Maximoff is a complicated woman, torn between the influence of a set of parents who loved and raised her. The influence of the Maximoffs is apparent in the fact that she is always siding with those she feels are least powerful and most in need of help. Her time spent in extreme poverty as a gypsy has ensured that she always knows how fragile life can be, and how sometimes the difference between surviving another winter and starving in the snow can all come down to chance, or the kindness of strangers. Her natural instinct is to be tender, loving and motherly towards everything and everyone. With the exception of hunting, she learned that violence rarely solves anything and that with compromise and Brotherhood may be able to accomplish much more. Wanda is honest to a fault, unwilling to lie or act deceptive unless it is absolutely necessary, and even then she does not do so happily.
However she is dedicated to protecting her people, mutants. Being a part of a community, and a family, is incredibly important to her. Growing up as a gypsy she learned that there was nothing more important than one's family, and thus she remains incredibly close to her twin brother and rarely ever leaves his side if she has a choice. She is hoping to find her place within that community, and is hoping to take on a leadership role within the mutant world.
Around Pietro she tries to be the calm and rational one, acting as a brake to his rather impulsive personality. However like her twin and her natural father, she has a emotional and impulsive side too. Though normally difficult to anger, she can be pushed beyond her limits and then she can do things that would go against her better and more non-violent judgment. Watching mutants rounded up, hurt or killed is one such thing that could cause her to lose control. Anything happening to Pietro is another. Once calmed however she will feel an incredible amount of guilt over those actions.
Currently she is angry with her father, believing that he risked the lives of mutants needlessly by declaring war on the humans. She also has very strong romantic feelings for the X-Man Nightcrawler, but she fears that they are not returned.

Abilities:
Wanda Maximoff speaks nearly a dozen languages, and reads more including several dead languages. She is a naturally gifted linguist.

Power!! Unlimited Power!
Powers:
At their root the Scarlet Witch's powers are able to affect probability fields, allowing her to affect causality resulting her giving her a limited ability to create unlikely occurrences. The power is more controllable than Longshot's similar "luck" power, and more proactive. Wanda's powers are channeled through her hands, and require a set of various motions and gestures in order to activate and direct. As with most energy based powers there is a finite amount of energy that she can expel before needing to rest and recharge.
There is a belief that her powers should have developed naturally into an energy projection and manipulation power, similar to her father Magneto and half-sister Polaris. However instead of being able to directly influence metal, or the physicality of objects, she uses her energy manipulation to create phenomena such as "allowing her to project hex bolts, spheres, and effects to create a sub-molecular disturbance in the fabric of reality around whatever they affect" and creating those unlikely occurrences. Instead of manipulating matter, she manipulates probability. It is difficult to direct and control the effect of her powers and they tend to have a 20% rate of producing completely unintended results which can include undoing previously cast hexes, adversely affecting herself or even aiding her opponents. This rate is raised by physical and mental fatigue.
The limitations on her powers, aside from the 20% rate of producing unintended results, are that she can only affect things within her line of sight. This prevents large scale world altering changes. This does not include things that she can see through technological means, she can not watch television and affect things on screen. As she also relies heavily on her hands for the casting of her hex bolts through gestures, if her hands are bound or not responsive to her commands for some reason she can not use her powers. Her powers also require an exercise of will, if she is conflicted in an action it is possible that the hex bolt will fail, or produce the consequences she actually does desire.
Some potential uses of her powers are:

Weaknesses:
Powers/Physical Weaknesses:
Powers/Physical Weaknesses: Wanda has problems controlling her powers. Sometimes things happen that are driven by her own subconscious desires and other times her conscious attempts to control her powers can go awry. In combat her abilities tend to have about a 20% fail rate, meaning that nearly one out of every five spells can go wrong and potentially backfire on her and her allies. Further Wanda tends to be nervous in using her powers because of this. While it is obvious that she has yet to reach her full potential she is purposefully holding back afraid of what she could do when fully unleashed.
She is fully mortal and can be hurt or killed by any of the things that can hurt of kill regular humans. These regular mortal weaknesses include things such as drugs, poisons, being shot or aging naturally. Physically she is simply as strong as a normal human woman who engages in a light to moderate amount of exercise. Though she has above average abilities at hand to hand combat, she is no match physically for those mutants, her
Personality Weakness:
Wanda is conflicted as to her purpose. Though she believes in helping her people, and wants to do all that she can to help mutants she does not relish harming humans. This can leave her conflicted during battle, and unwilling or unable to marshal her powers which themselves only respond to her true wishes and not those that she feels conflicted about. Wanda is also not naturally a warrior or a fighter, and it is a role that she has had to step into, thus she is reluctant to fight if she believes that there is another way. Her reluctance to enter combat can often leave her a few seconds behind in a fight. Wanda is also naive about many things about the western world, and has not yet fully acclimatized to American customs, often leaving her not sure how to deal with certain situations.

Taken from Astonighing X-Men, where I also play Wanda. It is a 616 game.
Wanda had always hated the missions when the Avengers went to space. There was no life in space, no natural life at least and since her powers somehow had a yet unexplained connection to the natural life-force of the planet earth she always felt weakened when they were out fighting the Kree or the Skrulls. The Scarlet Witch did not need Emma to tell her that there was no life there, for it felt to her as much of a void as the surface of the moon. Even the bird above in the sky did not feel right, nothing about this felt right. Wanda had been to Genosha in its aftermath, she had been there with Pietro to try to help the X-Men find survivors and specifically find Lorna Dane the sometimes sister the twins shared through their father's bloodline. Genosha had felt like this, though by then there were enough people on the island helping to seek out survivors that the void was not so strong. Now it was just Emma. Wanda remembered that she had heard that Emma had been found on Genosha, that she had managed to survive that massacre thanks to her secondary mutation. It had been hard enough thinking that she had lost her father there, but Emma had had students most if not all of which must have died. Not for the first time Wanda's respect for the woman rose, what was new this time was that she felt... not sorry for Emma but compassion. Emma was gruff, and unfriendly with her, but to have gone through that she had ever right to be.
Devoid as the moon. Wanda blinked.
"Even on Genosha I felt life," Wanda said, "bacteria. I am not Sue Richards, but I know that it survives in even extreme circumstances. It survived Cassandra Nova on Genosha, yet there is none here."
Which meant what? Why take the time to kill rats, insects and bacteria? Why then blow everything up as if you were trying to draw people's attention and yet cover your tracks at the same time? Had it not been for the explosion the two women most likely would never have come, and this would have just been another unsolved murder in a city with a long history of unsolved murder. It would have been a grisly one, but what was gained from the fireworks? What pieces of evidence would have been destroyed?
There were dark things that could have done this, demons but then she would have felt their essence. This was not done by man, not anything man made anyway unless their science had gotten even more horrifying as of late. It was a possibility not to be discounted, but something this strong, in such a confined area with no left over radiation and little bleed over. Whatever had done this was confounding her, neither man nor demon that left mutant or some other super powered attackers and yet this level of destruction was more than just a random attack by someone like the Wrecking Crew, this was deliberate. They wanted no memory of this place, and no sign of what had once been there, whatever their prey was. There was still evidence though and Wanda slowly looked through it.
She found it slightly odd that though the press had been there to report on the explosion there was no authorities on the scene going over what was left. That she had to imagine was most likely Emma's doing, a telepathic suggestion to anyone in the area to stay away until the two women had done their search. Bending down Wanda noticed something familiar, a pattern that she had seen before. Lifting she pulled loose a charred piece of wood and held it up.
"It does not explain everything that happened here," she said holding it towards Emma, "but Sabertooth was here."
