What’s in a Name
Name: Lorna Dane
Nickname: Polaris
Age:17
Affliction: Acolyte
It’s Inside what Matters
Personality:
Lorna is daddy’s little girl. Out of all her siblings, her life has been the most shielded and Magneto does whatever he can to protect his daughter from the harsh realities of the world – including isolating her from most people.
She’s a simple girl, one of her favourite hobbies is to sit in the rose gardens and admire the flowers. Shy and quiet, Lorna purposefully avoids people. She wishes to see the world, but she fears what her father would do if she left Genosha. While she is mostly a passive person, if pushed too far she is said to have her sister’s, Wanda, temper. Something which Wanda is infamous for.
Young and naïve, her family agrees on one thing: Lorna is no fighter.
History:
Lorna is a part of Magneto’s family known as the House of Magnus. She is the half sister of Wanda and Pietro. Out of all her siblings, she is the only one which shares her father’s mutant ability of magnetism. There is not much to say about Lorna except for the fact that she has spent her life on Genosha, protected by her father from the realities of life. She often comes across as child-like to those that do get the chance to meet her as she has never really seemed to grow up like others her age would have.
There are many things that Lorna wishes to do with her life, one of which was leaving Genosha, for it is to her, like a cage. A cage is still a cage even if it did look like a palace. Sometimes she wishes her father would treat her like her siblings - despite their best efforts to hide it, Lorna is aware of what happens down in the cells amongst other things, but she knows that this is impossible as he would always know her as his little girl.
Meanwhile, in the future she is still a member of the House of Magnus, but she is the last member standing. She now calls herself Polaris When Genosha was destroyed by the Phoenix, Magneto arrived at a tough decision, and sacrifice his life for his daughter. Before he perished, he gave her his helmet and cape to Lorna as a symbol of a legacy passed on. Genosha was eventually destroyed, but Polaris became mentally unstable. She resides in the Badlands, lonely and miserable; she resents the X-Men and blames Xavier for the death of Magneto.
Abilities:
… Flower picking. Due to her shielded life, she has not been given the chance to learn any abilities of note. If worse comes to worse, she’ll rely on her mutants ability to get herself out of a fix – but that is unlikely given how protected she is.
Sexuality: Straight
Looks do Count Sometimes
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 115 lbs
Power!! Unlimited Power!
Powers:
Like Magneto, Polaris is a mutant with the ability to manipulate magnetism. Although she has the potential to exercise all of the powers that Magneto has, as of yet she has only used powers involving the manipulation of magnetic, electrical, and gravity fields whether they exist naturally or artificially. This means, she can manipulate most, if not all types of metal to her whim. She can overload or short-circuit electrical systems. And, she can ‘fly’ by manipulating the earth’s gravitational field.
Weaknesses:
Lorna is not fighter. She is physically weaker then most, and has no skills in combat so already she is at a disadvantage to someone who can fight. She also cannot do much with her powers if the item she is trying to affect has little to no metal in it’s makeup.
She is rather gullible as well due to her naivety and can easily be manipulated into believing many things.

Lorna closed her eyes and inhaled the soft, floral scent of the roses that filled the garden. There was nothing that pleased her more then to spend a whole day in the gardens with the roses. Green eyes opened again and lit up with child-like excitement as she peered at the closest rose-buds. They had just started to bloom again after a harsh, cold winter and she couldn’t wait until the garden was once again filled with the contrasting red, white and green of the roses against the bushes.
She knew she couldn’t pick the flowers just yet, but she would happily settle for just sitting on the bench and looking at the roses. She had no other tasks to accomplish for the rest of the day and so she knew she would not be bothered unless it was an urgent matter – but then again, father would see to it if it was urgent.
Picking her favourite bench, Lorna sat down and allowed the peace and serenity of the garden to wash over her. Life was good, according to Lorna. She was happily ignorant of the current troubles of the world, where mutants were being hunted like animals. That was a world which her father had protected her from.
All that mattered to Lorna was just her and her garden of flowers.
