What’s in a Name
Name: Marie "Rogue" Darkholme
Nickname: Stripes, two tone, skunk
Age: 19
Affliction: Neutral
It’s Inside what Matters
Personality: Often deemed cold and sarcastic Rogue has taught herself to be there things although they are against her true nature. In reality she is caring and sweet and only forces herself to bee rude to help people stay away from her as she does not want to hurt others with her powers. Rogue also fears getting close to someone and rejects any chance of happiness as she believes there is no cure for her mutation and feels it would be better to live a lonely life than pine for the things she can never have.
History: Her parents, Owen and Priscilla, married early in their relationship and lived in a back-to-nature hippie commune in Caldecott County, Mississippi.[7] Born as Anna Marie, she also enjoyed the attentions of her Aunt Carrie, on her mother's side. The commune's failed attempt to use Native American mysticism to reach the 'Far Banks' resulted in Priscilla's disappearance. Carrie took over Anna's care, and in her grief at the loss of her sister, was a strict and authoritarian guardian. Anna Marie was a rebellious child[8] and her equally poor relationship with her father prompted her to run away from home as a young teenager. This also prompted the nickname "Rogue". Not long after, she was approached by Mystique, who sought her out on the advice of her precognitive partner Destiny. Mystique ultimately takes Rogue in as a daughter.[volume & issue needed]
At some point, Rogue grows close to a boy named Cody Robbins. During their flirtation, she impulsively kisses Cody, at which point her latent mutant power to absorb the life energy and psyche of others with skin-to-skin contact emerges. Rogue is traumatized by the experience, and Cody is left in a coma from which he would not awaken. She wears body-concealing clothing that eliminates the possibility of accidental skin contact. She wishes she "did not have to cover up so much around folks, to protect them from me," but utilizes, under appropriate and acceptable circumstances, more normal clothing.
Heartbroken and afraid of herself and what she could do do others Rogue ran away from home at sixteen in order to keep the people around her safe. After a while Rogue wound up in New York and found Wolverine in the heart of the large city, learning of the X-men and seeing a hope to control or eliminate her powers Rogue joined th team and developed a close bond with Logan, one that remained through the years.
After the explosion Rogue left feeling it best that she do so before she had to watch more of her friends and loved ones killed, no longer believing that mutants and Humans could live together peacefully Rogue denied her mutation and went into hiding in Texas, telling no one of her mutation and past she now lives and works there at a local bar. The very Real You
Nickname: Aims
Other characters on the site: None
Sample Post: It was going to be another slow day at the bar not that she minded, crowds where never Rogues passion but she did like having someone to talk to and on a warm day like it was it would have been nice to have the ability to forget the heat. Wetting a rag Rogue wiped the top of the counter again and rang out the cloth Keeping her mind busy was key, the dull chatter of the people on the tv her only friend at the minute.
Looking up at the news story she watched as two people debated over the mutant issue, since when where mutants an issue some of the mutants in the world where doing good things for the world people like storm helped the weather and was helping the the world climate and clearing green house gasses, but things like those where easy to forget when lies and fear where being fed into every home in the world "Thats enough" she said to herself and shut off the tv. In the silence she sat and though, was she wrong to have left, could they have used her help.......could she have been on the wrong side. It didn't matter anymore the past was done, but Rogue should have known the past had a way of returning when you least expect
