What’s in a Name
Name: James Logan Howlett
Nickname: Wolverine
Age: Unknown possibly over 100
Affliction: X-men
It’s Inside what Matters
Personality:
Wolverine is often a gruff individual, but, despite popular belief, he does not enjoy killing or giving into the berserker rage that usually accompanies it. Logan adheres to a firm code of personal honor and morality.
Despite often displaying a rebellious and irreverent attitude. He has had many romantic relationships with numerous women throughout the decades, most of which aren't known.
His most meaningful have included relationships with Itsu, Silver Fox, Mariko Yashida, and a flirtatious relationship with Jean Grey. He has found a family in the X-Men and provides a father figure to characters such as Rogue and Kitty Pride.
History:
Wolverine's history began in Alberta, Canada in the late 1880's. The man who would come to be known simply as "Logan" (the costumed adventurer, Wolverine) was born James Howlett to Elizabeth Howlett and John Howlett Jr., owners of a large estate. However, in his adulthood James Howlett came to resemble the appearance of the groundskeeper, Thomas Logan, much more closely than his legal father. It is possible that he is the product of the illicit affair between Elizabeth Howlett and Thomas Logan which had occurred in the past.
As the boy was notably frail and prone to bouts of allergic attacks, he spent most of his early years on the estate grounds and had two playmates that lived on the Howlett estate with him: Rose, a red-headed girl who was brought in from town to be a companion to young James, and a boy nicknamed "Dog," the groundskeeper's son. Thomas Logan was an alcoholic and was extremely abusive to his son. The children were close friends but as they reached young adulthood, the abuse inflicted upon Dog warped his mind. Dog made unwanted advances toward Rose, which James reported to his father. In retaliation Dog killed James' puppy, in turn leading to the expulsion of Thomas Logan and Dog from the estate.
Wolverine
Thomas Logan, in a drunken stupor, invaded the Howlett estate with his son and attempted to take Elizabeth Howlett (implied to be his former lover) with him. John Jr. attempted to stop him and Thomas Logan shot him down in cold blood. James Howlett had just entered the room when this occurred and for the first time his mutation manifested; his claws extended from the backs of his hands and he attacked the intruders with uncharacteristic ferocity, killing Thomas Logan, and scarring Dog's face with three claw marks. Elizabeth Howlett, who was already an emotionally disturbed woman since her first son's mysterious death, took her life immediately afterward with a blast from Thomas' gun.
Fearing for their safety, Rose fled the estate with James, who appeared to have been deeply traumatized and had somehow repressed or forgotten most of the memories of life back at the estate. Dog falsely reported to the police and James's grandfather that Rose had murdered John Howlett Jr. and Thomas Logan. The eldest Howlett shunned James and, with no family left, took Dog in as his ward. However, Dog was already a burgeoning psychopath and it was too late for his character to evolve down any other path.
In the years that followed, James and Rose took refuge in a British Columbia mining colony under the guise of being cousins. James also assumed the name of "Logan" in order to hide his identity. As the hard work of mining toughened his body, and his mutant powers developed, he grew to be unusually strong and ferocious. He was immune to the elements and even ran with the wolves in the forest, learning to hunt as an animal hunts. "Logan" became a valuable and admirable figure amongst the small community of miners due to his hard work and strong ethics, earning him the respect of his peers, including the foreman Smitty, who became a surrogate father figure to James. During this period, James developed strong feelings for Rose, but could not act on them for the sake of their guise as cousins. Smitty, who had been mentoring James all these years, had also grown close to Rose, and the two eventually fell in love and became engaged, much to the scorn and surprise of James, who later accepted the situation for the sake of Rose's happiness. Meanwhile, his grandfather, John Howlett Sr., was in failing health and asked Dog to find Rose and his grandson so he could make peace with them before he died. Dog agreed. However, Dog (who had become a physically formidable man himself) decided to track them down so he could kill James.
Dog hunted James and Rose down so easily that it seemed he had a preternatural skill for tracking. On the night that Smitty was due to leave the mining town with Rose, Dog finally found and confronted James. Dog reminded James of his past, and that fateful night back on the estate that had changed all their lives so. The two fought fiercely in the middle of the street and, despite being the physically stronger of the two, Dog was eventually overpowered by the enraged James. As Dog lay unconscious, James unsheathed his claws for the first time in public (to the shock of everyone watching) and was about to deal the deathblow when Rose leaped in to stop him but was accidentally impaled by his claws. Horrified, "Logan" held her in his arms as she died. He then fled into the woods where he lived in self-imposed exile with a pack of wolves, presumably for many years.
Logan's healing factor granted him an extended life span and had endowed him the physical condition of a man in his prime, despite his age.
Apparently, Logan returned to civilization sometime later and joined a Canadian military unit known as the Devil's Brigade just before the first World War. He later travelled to Madripoor, where he developped his "Patch" persona.
Years later, he met Nick Fury, Captain America, and a young Black Widow fighting the Nazis in Madripoor and Europe during World War II. Afterward, he participated as a Canadian soldier in D-Day, as well as the liberation of the Netherlands. He may have also been a spy for the Allied Forces and it was recently revealed that he may have spent time in the Sobibor concentration camp.
Wolverine had strong memories of loving the Native American woman, Silver Fox, and living with her in a cabin before they were recruited into Team X, but whether or not these memories were true would tantalize him for a long time before he finally learned the truth. On his birthday, Sabretooth, who lived in the same town that Wolverine lived in, apparently killed Silver Fox.
Years later, Logan resurfaced as a federal agent. During the 1960s, he was placed on a government Black Ops team with Sabretooth, Maverick, Kestrel, Mastodon, and Silver Fox. Team X was apparently disbanded after a botched mission concerning Omega Red.
Logan was taken by a group of scientists led by Dr. Cornelius as part of the Weapon X Project. Cornelius was hired to perfect and use a technique that would bond the indestructible element adamantium to human bone cells. Logan's skeleton was bonded to the adamantium, and he was indoctrinated into the Weapon X assassin program.
Wolverine is featured in the first episode, bidding farewells to the X-men and the Xavier Institute. Unfortunately, as he is about to say goodbye to Charles, an explosions destroys the institute and Jean Grey and Charles Xavier are missing.
He awakes from this flashback by a road side. As he departs, there is an explosion and he rushes to the scene. A child is trapped in a fiery wreck of a train and several RVs. Wolverine jumps into the chaos and is engulfed in an explosion just before saving the child. The child's family takes Logan in despite warnings that the MRD is on their way.
As Logan recovers from the blast, the MRD arrive at the home, arresting the family. Logan fights as best as he can, but the MRD are too prepared for his strategy and buy enough time for the family to be taken away. On an impulsive decision, Wolverine and Beast infiltrate an MRD compound and free the family and the imprisoned mutants.
Realizing the extent of the MRDs power, Logan decides that it is time to re-establish the X-men to fight for mutantkind.
Abilities:
Master Tactician: Though seemingly brutish, Wolverine is highly intelligent. When Forge monitored Wolverine's vitals during a Danger Room training session, he reported Logan's physical and mental state as "equivalent to an Olympic-level gymnast performing a Gold-medal-winning routine whilst simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head", which gives something of an idea of the level of sophistication and tactical processing Logan is capable of utilizing while in combat. He remembers Ogun teaching him Sun Tzu's The Art of War.
Master Martial Artist: Wolverine has extraordinary hand-to-hand combat ability, and, alongside Captain America and Taskmaster, is considered one of the finest combatants on Earth. Due to his extensive training as a soldier, a C.I.A. operative, a samurai, a spy, and a member of the X-Men, Wolverine is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, having mastered virtually every fighting style on Earth and is also well versed in pressure points and the art of espionage. He studied the samurai arts from a man who met the famed 17th century samurai Miyamoto Musashi, Ogun.
Advanced Covert Ops Expert: Due to his experience traveling the world and working for various government agencies, Wolverine is also a trained expert in multiple types of weapons, vehicles, computer systems, explosives, and assassination techniques.
Skilled Mechanic: Along with Nightcrawler, Wolverine has also been the mechanic of the X-Men's Blackbird jet for a long time.
Multi-lingual: A polyglot; Wolverine is fluent in many languages including English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Cheyenne, Lakota, and Spanish; he has some knowledge of French, German, Thai, Vietnamese, and Portuguese. Ogun taught him Japanese ideograms.
With his increased lifespan and journeys across the globe, he has been able to amass an intimate knowledge of many foreign customs and cultures. Once he saw a kabuki play of The 47 Ronin (Genroku Chūshingura) and remarked how it was one of the finest kabuki troupes he had seen. His exploits have further endowed him with vast awareness of literature and philosophy.

Power!! Unlimited Power!
Powers:
Wolverine is a mutant who possesses the ability to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human. The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion with the severity of the damage Wolverine suffers. For example, he can fully recover from an ordinary gunshot wound in a non-vital area of his body within minutes, but it took him almost two months to fully recover from injuries sustained in a duel with Lord Shingen, which included one from a sword that went all the way through his trunk.
Wolverine’s natural healing also affords him virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases. For example, it is nearly impossible for him to become intoxicated from drinking alcohol. He also has a limited immunity to the fatigue poisons generated by bodily activity, and hence he has greater endurance than an ordinary human. His agility and reflexes are similarly enhanced.
In addition, Wolverine’s healing factor provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Although over a century old, Wolverine is as healthy and physically fit as a man in his prime.
Wolverine also possesses superhumanly acute senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than a normal human’s. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Wolverine can use these enhanced senses to track any creature with an impressive degree of success.
Wolverine’s skeleton includes six retractable one-foot long bone claws, three in each arm, that are housed beneath the skin and muscle of his forearms. Wolverine can, at will, release these slightly curved claws through his skin beneath the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but the blood loss is quickly halted by his healing factor. Wolverine can unsheathe any number of his claws at once, although he must keep his wrists straight at the moment his claws shoot from his forearms into his hands. When unsheathed, the claws are fully within his hands, and thus Wolverine can still bend his wrists. The claws are naturally sharp and tougher than that of normal human bone structure, allowing Wolverine to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials.
Weaknesses:
Despite the extent of his healing factor, Wolverine is not immortal. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form, such as having flesh burned away by fire or acid, Wolverine can die.
Muramasa Blade: Wolverine does possess a few, very specific, vulnerabilities. The efficiency of his mutant healing factor is decreased dramatically if he sustains injury from the Muramasa Blade.
Carbonadium Digestion: Wolverine's healing factor is also affected, though to a far less degree, if he ingests Carbonadium.
Wolverine's only other "weakness" is the fact that his heightened senses can be take advantage of. For instance, when he was fighting the Hulk, he was nearly killed by the Hulk's sonic claps due to his heightened sense of hearing.

“NOOO!!!”
His hand moves out into nowhere as she vanishes from the rooftop and falls down. The thud sends a shiver down his pine. It didn’t register the first few seconds until he began to walk over to the edge and looks over. His eyes look down the streets where people gather around her body. Her eyes still gazing up to the sky in the same way she had looked at him. Blood trickling from her mouth. She lay there like a fallen angel
For a moment Logan looks down to the streets. Even if he sees that she lays there he can’t turn his gaze away from the display below. Once more he had failed he had been to late. He could hear the people lurking up to him. Hoping to take him by surprise. For a slight moment he closes his eyes. Then he bolts into movement. His face blank… no emotion shown in his face. It all happened so fast that if you would blink you would have missed it.
He stood there covered in blood of the men who in his eyes had to die. In a swift movement he turns around and walks to the edge of the roof. Jumping down he lands on his feet, with the same blank face he looks at the form of her on the floor. He knows in his heart it is over. Not even she would be able to survive this. Slowly he kneels down beside her and moves his hand to her cheek.
His heads tilting to the side he gently takes her arm and pulls her lifeless body close to him. Why hadn’t she told him she was in trouble… Why hadn’t she called? He would have protected her… He would have stopped them. Moving his other hand to the other side of her face he moved her face towards his shoulder and gently lays his face down on her cheek. A lone tear streaming down his cheek before a glimmer forms in his eyes. Behind him he could hear the footsteps of the other X-men coming closer.
As gently as you would do with a baby he lay her down again and got up. His eyes down the street and a feral look in them. For a moment his face looks grim. Until slowly a slight grin began to form on his face. His eyes trail back to the two X-men that had followed him. His voice sounded nothing like his own. It didn’t feel like it came from his mouth and for now he didn’t care. For this the world would pay.
“Take her home.. NOW!!”
Letting his claws slide out he vanishes in the darkness of the side alleys. Looking for anyone… anybody he can kill. Anybody who could pay for what had happened. As if to kill someone else would ease the fact someone dear to him had been killed. In his mind he still saw her fall. Her eyes. Her broken form on the ground. Yes… the world would pay for this.
